Lithograph print of Edgar O'Connor, a resident of Beloit, Wisconsin who served as colonel of the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. The image depicts a bust view of O'Connor wearing a field officer's frock coat. O'Connor was born in Cleveland, Ohio but moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin when he was nine years old. He graduated from West Point Military Academy in 1853 and served as lieutenant in the 7th Regiment, United States Army until his resignation in 1859. O'Connor accepted command of the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment in August 1861 and was killed in action during the Battle of Gainesville (Virginia) in 1862. O'Connor is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. The print was made by L. Prang & Co. Boston and Washington.
